City of Ada names new Chief of Police (ADA, OKLAHOMA/December 20, 2023) ? Major Tracy Jackson has been named the new Chief of Police for the City of Ada. His official duties will begin on January 1, 2024. As the Chief of Police, Jackson will be responsible for overseeing 34 sworn officers and three civilian employees. Jackson began his career with the City of Ada in 1994 as a dispatcher/jailer. In 1995, he became an officer with the Ada Police Department (APD). He was promoted to Major in 2015. Jackson grew up in Ada, attended Byng Schools and graduated from East Central University. He met his wife KaLyn while in the police academy, and they have been married for 26 years. Mrs. Jackson is an Assistant Deputy Director for the Department of Human Resources. They have one son Kade who is currently a junior at East Central University. While not at work, Major Jackson enjoys hunting fishing and just being outdoors. ?I am very excited about continuing my career in public service as the Chief of Police,? said Major Jackson. ?By working alongside the officers and staff of the Ada Police Department, I believe we can continue to enhance public safety services, strengthen community relationships, and make our department an example for others to follow.?
