BUILDING OFFICIAL: To supervise and coordinate building inspection program activities and operations within the Community Development Division; to coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies and the general public; and to provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to the Community Development Director. Responsible for supervision of building inspector(s) and training and mentorship. Six to ten years of responsible experience as an architect, engineer, building inspector, contractor or construction experience including five years of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical and Building Inspectors license issued by the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, building official certification. Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver?s License.

BUILDING INSPECTOR: To perform technical building inspection work in enforcing compliance with building, plumbing, electrical and mechanical codes, regulations and ordinances; to work with developers, contractors and architects to maintain code compliance and resolve problems relating to code compliance; and to provide technical assistance to the Building Official. Read, interpret, and analyze electrical, structural, plumbing, and mechanical building plans. Interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, laws and regulations and codes. Enforce necessary regulations. Four to five years of increasingly responsible building inspection or skilled trades experience. Possession of, or ability to obtain, appropriate, valid Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical, and Building Inspectors Licenses issued by the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board.
