Chief of Police to retire after 38 years of service (ADA, OKLAHOMA/November 17, 2023) ? Carl Allen, Chief of Police announced he will retire at the end of December after 38 years of service and dedication to the City of Ada. ?I am proud of the progress the Police Department has made since I returned in 2019. My team and officers have been awesome to work with and deserve the credit for the progress that we have made moving the department forward,? stated Chief Allen. ?I leave the City of Ada will some sadness but mostly a positive outlook on my personal life and the City that I have devoted 38 years to. Chief Allen graduated from East Central University and holds a degree in Human Resources with a concentration in Criminal Justice. He retired from the Ada Police Department in 2011, after 26 years of service and began a new career in Public Works as Public Works Director. In 2019, he returned to the Ada Police Department as Chief of Police. ?Chief Allen is truly a public servant. He has dedicated his career to serving the citizens of Ada, stated Assistant City Manager, Angie Stout. ?We will miss his wisdom and experience but wish him well as he enjoys retirement.? There will be a Come and Go Retirement Reception for Chief Allen on Thursday, December 28th at the Arts and Heritage Center from 2 pm until 4 pm.
