Mill and Overlay project set to begin (ADA, OKLAHOMA/October 20, 2023) ? Several streets in town will close temporarily as crews make improvements in the area. A mill and overlay project will begin on Tuesday, October 24 and take approximately two months to complete. Streets included in the project are Hickory Avenue, Ash Avenue, Short Street, and 1st Street (see attached map). Detour signs will be posted. A ?mill & overlay? is?a street maintenance technique that requires the removal of the top layer (2") of a street by the grinding action of a large milling machine. After the top layer is removed, a new layer of bituminous pavement is put in its place. This project is funded by Proposition 1. Your tax dollars at work.
