October 30, 2015 City of Ada names new Assistant Chief of Police ADA – Tracy Jackson, who has served as Ada’s detective captain since March 2014, will take on a new role as the city’s Assistant Chief of Police. Major Jackson’s appointment is effective immediately. He will be responsible for enforcing department policies and procedures, supervising patrol shifts and detective supervisors, the direct hiring process of new officers, and controlling the police budget. Major Jackson reports to the Police Chief on all operations. Major Jackson graduated from East Central University with a degree in Criminal Justice. He has been with the Ada Police Department for almost 20 years. Jackson is a certified CLEET Instructor, Commander of the Critical Incident Response Team, otherwise known as S.W.A.T. Jackson instructs S.D.A (Self Defense Act), and holds an advanced law enforcement certificate. “I look forward to taking on the responsibilities of a new job with a great crew of officers,” Major Jackson said.
