October 28, 2015 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day scheduled ADA – The City of Ada hosts its 16th annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection day on Saturday, November 7. The event is 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Koi Ishto Stadium located at East Central University’s Norris Field on Stadium Drive. This is an excellent opportunity to dispose of any household hazardous wastes. Area residents are encouraged to bring all unwanted items including: - Acids - Antifreeze - Asbestos - Batteries - Brake Fluid - Bleach - Chlorine - Insecticides - Herbicides/pesticides - Fertilizers - Paint thinners/solvents - Swimming pool chemicals - Unwanted fuels (gasoline/kerosene) - Mercury-containing items - Used motor oil - Oil/latex paints - Tires - Fluorescent bulbs Ada Recycling Coalition volunteers will once again collect and mix latex paints on site and then donate the paints for reuse.
